What we collect
(1) Information you provide — name, email, country, rank/training history, and message content when you apply for affiliation, register for certification, contact us, or subscribe to the Journal. (2) Payment information — processed securely by our payment providers; GAMAO does not store full card numbers. (3) Technical data — IP address, browser type, and usage data collected via cookies and analytics.
Why we use it (legal bases)
To process membership and certification applications (contract); to respond to inquiries (legitimate interest); to send the Journal and updates where you have opted in (consent); to maintain the instructor/credential register and verify credentials (legitimate interest and contract); and to comply with legal obligations.
Sharing
We share data only with service providers who help us operate (hosting, payment processing, email, analytics) under appropriate safeguards, with our sub-organizations as needed to administer your certification, and where required by law. We never sell your personal data.
International transfers
As a global organization we may process data across borders. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
Retention
We keep personal data as long as needed for the purposes above and to maintain the integrity of the credential register, then delete or anonymize it.
Your rights
Under GDPR you may access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your data, object to processing, and withdraw consent. Under CCPA, California residents may request disclosure of data collected, request deletion, and opt out of any sale (GAMAO does not sell data). To exercise any right, email [email protected]. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
Security
We use SSL encryption, a security firewall, and access controls to protect your data. No method is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the data.
Children
The site is intended for adults and professionals. We do not knowingly collect data from children without appropriate consent.
